We are all about discovering new things at Freeosk – and that includes how we spend our time off.
Discovery Time Off (DTO) is our sabbatical program that recognizes and rewards Freeoskers who have reached their 7 year milestone with the company! Freeoskers get to pick a DTO gift and receive 3 weeks of paid time off to disconnect, recharge and discover something new. We connected with a few of our Freeoskers who shared how they spent their time off. Jon, Engineering Team I ran a marathon and then some at Disney’s marathon weekend, spent time with family, and went to a wedding. In high school I had given myself a goal of running a marathon. It didn’t have a time frame but I am happy to have completed it Laura, Client Success Team For my time off, I extended my maternity leave so I could spend more time with my baby, Margot. I chose to spend time with my daughter because after 3 months off (which Freeosk provided) the extra time felt like icing on the cake. At that point, Margot was sleeping more and in a routine, so we had time to get to know each other and have FUN! Mark, Engineering Team Home Improvement – I finally tackled come project around the house including enclosing the front porch with new railings and banisters. Travel – I got to visit with family and friends and toured the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village Volunteering – I donated my time at the Denior PGA championship as a standard bearer. In addition to the autographed golf balls, I brought home a sunburn and summer head cold. Brian, Operations Our family flew to Mérida, Mexico to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. It’s located in the Mexican state of Yucatán and is just over 3 hours of a drive away from Cancun. We thoroughly enjoyed the city and it’s unique, colorful buildings, it’s boutique hotels, historic monuments, and numerous cafes. Though it was during one of the hottest times of the year, we were comfortable thanks to the pools in each of the 3 renovated Airbnb haciendas we used during our 3 week visit. Ryan, Consumer Experience I tore up carpeting and laminate flooring in our dining room & kitchen and replaced it with vinyl plank flooring. I knew I would need an extended period of time to get the job done, so Discovery Time Off was a perfect opportunity. It was also a way for me to take a break from the computer and work with my hands. Kendall, Product I visited friends in California and spent two weeks in Hawaii, where I got to experience two National Parks—Volcanoes and Haleakalā. I have been working on a project where I write songs inspired by U.S. National Parks. I released an album last year, Trailsongs: Volume 1 and from this visit, I’ll have some new material for an eventual Volume 2. |
